On July 14, 2012 I defended my PhD Thesis at the Department of Physics of the Università degli Studi di Milano, Italy. The Commission for the Final Exam was chaired by Professor Douglas C. Heggie, with Professor Luca Ciotti and Professor Giuseppe Bertin acting as External and Internal Examiner, respectively.
